Brass, steel, wood, found and handmade clock parts – 2007

When the clock spring is wound tight, it nestles into the brass portion of the piece. After a small pin is released, the spring expands and slowly oscillates as a small rubber tipped hammer erratically strikes the spring from below. This unpredictably disturbs the expansion process until the spring reaches full bloom.
